Food Shopping: Week of October 14th.

10/14/2013 18:56

I live in the Philadelphia area, where there are many great options for shopping. My two favorite places to go are Shoprite and Trader Joe's. It's a great mix of low prices, and healthy options.

I was pretty surprised when I got out of both stores for a total of $78.66 today. Below the picture is a breakdown of everything that I bought, and by store.

Trader Joe's:

Organic Bananas

Mini Watermelon

2 Balls of Pizza DOugh

Vanilla Soy Cream Sandwiches.... Don't even! They are crazy addictive and one of the best "Ice Cream" sandwiches around!

Halloween Gummies

White Cheddar Corn Puffs

Organic Kale

Pepperoni

Green Pepper

Red Pepper

Orange Pepper

Gallon of Milk

                            Total: $28.11

Shoprite:

3 Cans of Corn

2 Cans of Creamed Corn

Large Can of White Potatoes

Swanson Chicken Broth

Carozzi Penne

4 Oriental Flavor Ramen

4 Beef Flavor Ramen    - My husband has a slight addiction to these, as you can tell but I sub the rest of the family's "Ramen" with Rice Noodles and Gfree Soy Sauce. That's a seperate post.

2 Jiffy Blueberry Muffin Mix

Shoprite Waffle Shaped Pretzels

Pack of Shoprite Hamburger Buns

2 Large Packages of Bone-in Perdue Chicken Legs and Thighs

Shoprite Shredded Mozzarella

Shoprite Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Oscar Mayer Thin and Crispy Turkey Bacon

Heavy Cream

Oscar Mayer Bacon (regular)

Shoprite Large Pack 18 Eggs

American Cheese (Deli)

Rotisserie Chicken

Extra Rubbermaid Containers - The boy apparently lost one, so I bought 2 more.

                                 Total: $50.55

Overall, at both stores I spent $78.66!

That's $21.34 UNDER my budget for the week!

*After scouring the local ads and my coupon binder, I only used one coupon, which was for the eggs.
