Glazed Crescent Roll Apple Pies

Sometimes, you just have to use what's left in the house. Sometimes it's because there really isn't anything left because you need to go food shopping. That's how I ended up with crescent rolls turned apple pies tonight with our dinner.

What you need:

A container of refrigerated crescent rolls (I used Pillsbury)

2 melted tablespoons of butter

Cinnamon and Sugar mixed together (I made it to taste)

1 large Granny Smith apple, cut into 8 slices and peeled of all skin

Glaze:

1 Tablespoon cream cheese

1 Tablespoon butter

2-4 Tablespoons powdered sugar

Directions:

It was quite simple to put these together. I opened and unraveled the crescent rolls. I brushed a thin layer of the butter onto the dough, then sprinkled a bit of the cinnamon and sugar mixture onto that. I then placed one slice of apple onto the dough and rolled it up. When the crescent was placed into the pan, I brushed just a little more butter on top and one more layer of the cinnamon and sugar.

I repeated this until all 8 crescents were used, and placed into the pan.

I still baked them at 375 degrees like the package states for the rolls, but added a few more minutes (my oven is tempermental, so I use the "wait and see" method when following packaged recipes)

Once they were done baking, I made a quick glaze for the tops. I melted the cream cheese and butter in the microwave, then added between 2-4 tablespoons of the powdered sugar until I found the taste and consistency that I wanted. Just drizzled that on top and voila!
