Lunch #11 for Picture Day!

I'm the first to admit that my kid is "that kid". Some might call it nerdy or geeky, but I call him pretty awesome for not being ashamed of his interests. One interest in particular is the British TV show, Doctor Who. He LOVES IT! He's even planning on being the 11th Doctor for Halloween.

So, since tomorrow is Picture Day, he asked to wear his bow tie...because bow ties are cool, according to the 11th Doctor. And coincidentally, this is his 11th school lunch. What better way to show off his fancy bow tie but with some Doctor Who inspired snacks with his lunch.  Now, please keep in mind I went food shopping at an American, close to the ghetto supermarket. I had to stretch these references a tad, but he's five and won't know the difference.

Here's his lunch:

Leftover homemade pizza - Not anything special to the show.

A "juice box" of iced tea...since ya know, the Brits love tea.

Jelly Babies (AKA, Gummie Bears) to reference the Fourth Doctor.

A Banana to reference the Ninth Doctor and his love of the fruit.

And what is probably going to make him go bonkers, Jammie Dodgers. Ok, these are not real Jammie Dodgers, but they were the absolute closest I could find that resembled the Eleventh Doctor's favorite "biscuit".  I thought about making a fake "fish fingers and custard" but I think I'll save that for his birthday lunch. - and no, I'll make the fish fingers (fish sticks) out of cookies, and use vanilla pudding.

*He's so into this that he's even wearing socks with dinosaurs to reference "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship."   I told you my kid was an intense Whovian.
